Upper Back Injury Exercises
These upper back exercise programs are designed to help you gradually heal and rehabilitate from an upper back injury. Start with the “Acute” program, move onto the “Sub-Acute” program and complete your rehab with the “Chronic” program. It is still very important to consult a physiotherapist or doctor to ensure that this program is right for you. Generally, these exercises will be performed for 2 weeks without any discomfort before progressing onto the next stage. Your health care provider may decide to adjust these exercises to better suit your injury as not all injuries are exactly the same and some rehabilitation exercises may be better than others for your specific condition.
All injuries heal at their own rate. There are many factors that affect the rate of healing for an individual. Age, pre-injury health status, gender, injury severity, body region and level of pain all have a role to play when it comes to recovering from an injury. Each level of this exercise program to rehabilitate your condition may take more or less time than expected. You should aim to complete the exercises in the acute section for at least 2 weeks with no pain before moving onto the sub-acute and then chronic phases. It is vital that you supplement these exercises with visits to your physiotherapist to enhance the healing process.
