Metatarsalgia

Metatarsalgia

Metatarsalgia is a condition where the ball of your foot becomes inflamed and painful due to repetitive jumping, running or wearing the wrong type of shoes. It can be an annoying condition to live with and often is calmed down by application of ice and rest from activity.

Custom made orthotics can often help prevent it or manage it, especially ones with metatarsal pads. Ibuprofen can also be quite helpful to keep the pain of this condition down. Our Orthogenics orthotics are made of supportive yet flexible material that helps relax the foot throughout the day.

Treatments

Physiotherapy treatment can include ultrasound, laser, taping, orthotics, ice, stretches, education and acupuncture.
